Sycamore or European Maple (Acer pseudoplatanus) is one of the most common trees in the UK. It can grow to substantial sizes, and the wood is very popular with wood turners, as it cuts easily and at the same time holds a shape well. It should not be confused with London Plane, which is also very popular, especially as street side trees. The wood from London Plane is usually called Lacewood and looks quite different. The two species can easily be told apart by their different leave shapes and fruit pods.

We usually have quite a range of blanks available, and can also usually provide unusual dimensions.
