Beech Hollow Form

This hollow form (could also be called a vase) is made from beech. The blank had some severe cracks and showed signs of decay, with parts of the wood already so soft that it wouldn’t cut and I had to douse the entire top in superglue to stabilize it.

In return for this extra work, I ended up with some very nice visual features. Very decorative item for any mantelpiece.
